Halifax Brand Photographer & the Maritime Lawyer

Marine Law is a specific niche. When local lawyer Sarah reached out, she didn’t want a typical photoshoot in the law firm. She was going out on her own, and wanted to build a client-focus brand. That meant showcasing behind the scenes, and being hands on.
For her personal branding photoshoot, we were given permission to use the Law Library at the Halifax Court House, adding a classic legal backdrop. But it didn’t stop there; we headed to Fisherman’s Cove, a vibrant lobster fishing community. Since Sarah’s clients are deeply rooted in the fishing and marine industry, the setting added authenticity and helped potential clients see her as someone who understands their world.
Typically we think of a lawyer as seen on TV. Even on Suits, my favourite TV show, it is high rises and power suits. Sarah wanted to step away from that big city corporate image and connect with her clients in a way that felt genuine. So, we ditched the office and went straight to the dock, showcasing Sarah as both approachable and professional.
Allison listened to my business ideas and helped shape a unique photo session that worked very well for my business launch and rebrand. She both inspired and accommodated my location requests and was flexible with timing. The photos will help clients to get to know me and my approach to offering legal services. Many of the photos provided my web design team with material for a new website.
